Jeton Canada : A Depositor's Companion to Secure Casino Payments

Jeton is a privately owned, European-based payment processing company. Established in 2016, it’s one of the newer payment options available to the global iGaming market. Despite its relative youth, Jeton delivers a quality product with reliable backing, serving over 700,000 customers across 100+ countries, in 50+ currencies.

Jeton provides users with a dual payment product. It works as a web wallet or as a prepaid virtual cash card – or both, depending on your needs. You can fund a prepaid Jeton Cash virtual card online, then use it at your favorite online casinos or merchants. Or, you can set up a Jeton account for regular usage, cutting down cost and widening the door for not just online casino deposits, but withdrawals as well. In fact, Jeton Wallet is best know for its affordability, but I’m getting ahead of myself.

What is Jeton – The Modern Way to Pay & Play Online

Founded in 2016, Jeton Wallet is a virtual prepaid and eWallet payment platform for individuals, businesses, and entrepreneurial resellers. It provides users with an all-in-one solution for sending, receiving and exchanging money in domestic and international markets. It even deals in crypto currencies. Jeton operates in over 100 countries, including Canada, processing payments in 50+ currencies.

To better describe what Jeton is, and how it benefits Canada’s countless online gambling enthusiasts, we must detail its two primary products separately. Bear in mind, you are always privy to choice with Jeton. You can employ just one method, or use both. You can even use one to fund the other.

Jeton Wallet – Web Wallet Account

The Jeton Wallet is like any other web wallet. It requires account registration and identity verification to provide users with a fast, affordable and secure way to store, spend and receive money online.

One of its most attractive features is cost efficiency. Registration is free, as are most wallet funding methods. Receiving money in your Jeton Wallet (e.g. an online casino withdrawal) is free up to five times per month. The sixth payment received, and every payment thereafter (in the same calendar month) will incur a 2.5% fee.

As for getting money in your Jeton Wallet, there are a number of ways to do it. You can link it to your bank account for direct and consistent funding access. Or, you can use one of several funding options, detailed below.

Instant Bank Transfer: Instantly deposit funds into your Jeton Wallet via online banking with a local or international bank transfer. Instant bank transfers include everything from EFT, eCheck, and Interac, to iDebit, InstaDebit, Citadel, and more.

Credit/Debit Card: Jeton accepts all credit and debit cards with the Visa or MasterCard logo. Extra fees may apply if converting currencies. Identity verification is required before processing your first credit/debit card payment.

JetonCash: Users can purchase a JetonCash prepaid virtual card, then upload the funds to their Jeton Wallet. See JetonCash below for more info.

JetonCash – Pre-Pay Virtual Card

JetonCash is a prepaid virtual voucher that combines the the convenience and versatility of a debit card, with the security and privacy of a prepaid gift card. Each JetonCash voucher comes with a 19-digit voucher code, CVV code, and expiration date. They’re perfect for online shopping, online casino gaming, and anything else you may need to pay for online.

Funding Jeton Wallet with JetonCash: If you have a Jeton Wallet account and would rather not divulge your bank or credit/debit card info, you can purchase JetonCash online and use it to fund your Jeton Wallet.

JetonCash can be spent all at once on a single purchase, or across multiple purchases. You can use it at one merchant, or a variety of merchants. It’s highly versatile, and easy to purchase. You can buy JetonCash at any associate reseller website, or via the JetonCash App.

The problem with JetonCash, compared to Jeton Wallet, is that there are no set fees. Resellers are able to attach whatever fees they wish to their vouchers. Therefore, you may want to take the time to shop around for the best deal before you buy.

Note that Jeton Wallet and JetonCash may only be used at participating merchants who display the Jeton logo. As for iGaming usage, we’ll talk more about online casinos that accept Jeton payments below.

Registering Your Free Jeton Wallet

You can register your free Jeton account with nothing more than your mobile phone number, name, address, and a valid email. The mobile number is necessary for two-step authentication; an essential security measure in today’s technology-driven world of high finance. Your name and address will need to be verified to comply with Jeton’s AML policy.

To verify your identity, you’ll need to submit a copy of a valid photo ID, along with a copy of a utility bill or bank statement showing your name and address. It’s a one-time thing that should take no longer than 24-hours to complete. Once done, you’ll never have to worry about it again; nor will you have to worry about security issues like identity theft and financial fraud.

From there, you’re all set to begin using your account. You can upload funds, shop online, make casino deposits, and request withdrawals of gambling winnings back to your account.

How Secure is Jeton Wallet?

Security is top priority. Jeton provides maximum security and data protection with PCI DSS Level 1 compliance and 2 Factor Authentication. These are the same ultra-high bank-level security measures employed by government websites.

Jeton’s terms and conditions lay out the need for users to be equally secure with their private information, including logins and passwords. Users are encouraged to keep this information safe, and to use strong passwords to secure their accounts. Far more often than not, when a security breech occurs in a web wallet account, it’s not the company, but the user that is negligent.

Can I Gamble Anonymously with Jeton?

To an extent with JetonCash, yes, but not with Jeton Wallet. The fact that identity verification is required points to the web wallet’s inability to facilitate private transactions. JetonCash, on the other hand, could provide some level of anonymity.

When you purchase JetonCash virtual vouchers, you will need to use a payment method that may be connected to your identity. Conversely, when spending JetonCash, you may be able to keep your personal details private. Thus, the level of anonymity really depends on how you purchase JetonCash, and the ID requirements of the merchant/casino your using it at.

More often than not, if the right people really wanted to know where a payment is coming from, it could be traced back to your original purchase of JetonCash. If you’re looking for an untraceable payment method, may we suggest crypto currency, or a physical gift card bought with cash.

Speed of Jeton Payments – Instant!

Like most of today’s digital payment systems, Jeton deposits are instant. Whether you’re using your Jeton Wallet, or a JetonCash voucher, both are prepaid. Thus, you can expect immediate credit for the transfer.

Receiving money may not be quite so fast. Online casino withdrawals, in particular, can take a day or two to appear in your account. This isn’t because Jeton is slow about crediting accounts, but because the online casinos can take up to 48 hours to process the payment.

This is what casino operators call ‘process pending’; that is, the pending time between the moment you request the money, and the time it takes them to review and approve the cashout. Once approved, the funds should appear in your Jeton account within a few minutes.

Cost of Jeton Canada – Rates and Fees

Web wallets don’t exist just because users need them. They operate as a business, and every business is in business to make money. The good news is that Jeton is one of the cheapest eWallets on the market today.

If you use the it wisely, your cost will be minimal. Account registration is free. Most wallet funding methods are free. The only fee you’ll be subject to is a 2% sender’s fee when making online casino deposits. Even the payments you receive (e.g. casino withdrawals) are free, so long as you keep it under five per month. Six or more, and the rate jumps to 2.5% per transaction.

Here’s a complete fee schedule, as per the Jeton website at time of writing. Use this link to view the current Jeton Fees & Limits.

Did You Know Fun Fact

Did You Know?

Europeans have been gambling with Jetons for centuries!

Take a step back in history to 13th century Europe. It was a very different time. The people, the vocabulary, the clothing – so very different! What wasn’t different was the use of a “Jeton” to gamble. Even in those days, a Jeton referred to a means of payment, of sorts, often used in lieu of casino chips.

From the 13th-18th century, a Jeton was a medal token or coin used throughout Europe. These tokens weren’t real money, but they were able to represent real money. They were originally built into counting boards, similar to an abacus, used for calculations. Over time, the tokens became substitutes for actual currency, just like today’s casino and poker chips.

To ensure Jetons were not counterfeited as real money, they were usually pierced or heavily indented in the center. In this way, anyone who attempted to silver plate the brass tokens would not be able to pass them off as genuine currency.

Practical use of jetons tampered off in the 18th century, but they still exist in some modern societies. In the 21st century, jetons were utilized in place of coins for everything from pay phones to car washes. But instead of jetons, we simply call them “tokens”. Few countries still refer to “jetons” by name; primarily Germany, where the term refers specifically to casino chips, and nothing else.

No doubt, the founders of Jeton.com were well aware of this history when they launched Jeton Wallet and JetonCash. While the payment service is available across a wide variety of merchant websites, the historical relevance of its name clearly identifies the online casino community as its target audience.
