US & Canadian Internet Gambling Jurisdictions by Province / State As promised in a previous segment detailing National Online Gambling Licensing Jurisdictions, today’s edition will cover more locally run regulatory bodies—specifically those in the states and provinces of the US and Canada—where online casino and/or poker games are locally operated. In these countries, the federal government has limited control over internet gambling laws. Both nations have decreed that gambling is not specifically legal or illegal, unless deemed so—one way or the other—by the state or province in which one resides. Therefore, the legality and regulation of internet gambling depends entirely upon where one lives in North America. We’ll give a brief run down of US and Canada online gambling licenses, where they exist, and what they permit. Important Note on Federal Gambling Laws United States: Unless otherwise legislated, online gambling is generally illegal in any US state where the activity … Continue reading

Why some prefer House-Banked Texas Hold’em

The Ultimate Showdown: Texas Hold’em Poker -vs- Live Dealer Casino Hold’em Texas Hold’em is, hands down, the most beloved poker game in the world. It brings people together for a battle of mathematical supremacy and psychological warfare. Whether heads-up or in a thousands-strong multi-table tournament, the games can be incredibly lucrative, if you play your cards right. Casino Hold’em is, for all intents and purposes, the same game. However, competition is limited, decisions are much easier to make, and you don’t have to be a savant to outwit your opponent. This game pits player versus dealer in a house banked rivalry that anyone can win. Texas Hold’em Poker vs Live Dealer Casino Hold’em By and far the most significant difference between these two casino games is competition. In Texas Hold’em poker, it’s you versus every other player who stakes a buy-in. Even in a 9-seat SNG, your natural odds are severely … Continue reading

Daniel Negreanu still the best poker player of all time after losing heads up to Justin Bonomo. This week, a very prestigious crowd of 48 elite poker players gathered at the PokerGO studio within Aria Las Vegas. One Wednesday, the field was down to three, including one man who felt the golden touch of Lady Luck upon his should just hours before. Justin Bonomo—a 13-year American poker pro with more 6- and 7-figure cashes than birthday candles—was a card away from losing his stack on Tuesday.
