Will Seneca Casino Become Hotspot for Canada Sports Wagers?

New York tribe’s rare opportunity to provide legal sports betting for Canadians. The Seneca Tribe of Upstate New York has been given a very unique opportunity. Located a stone’s throw across the border from Canadian soil, the Seneca Niagara Resort Casino could soon become the closest legal option for Canada sports wagers, thanks to the recent passage of a bill legalizing sports betting in the state. So far, the tribe doesn’t seem to interested in the option, but there’s good reason to suspect that, deep down and behind closed doors, they’re grinning like kids in a candy store. After all, Canadians have long expressed their desire for a legal single-event sports betting product in their home country. With local legislative efforts stalling for years, this could be catalyst that sends more Canadians across the border than ever before. Is Will Hill Seeking Renewed M&A Courtship with Caesars?

Caesars Entertainment fails in €3bn bid to takeover UK sportsbook William Hill. The gambling industry, both online and on land, has been a volatile one of late. It’s incredibly lucrative, don’t get me wrong, but competition is so fierce, no one is safe. Caesars Entertainment and William Hill are among the most recognized casino and sportsbook brands in the world, yet both have experienced more than their fair share of hardship in recent years. Caesars just emerged from bankruptcy in late 2017. Billionaire investor Carl Icahn upped his stake in the company to 17.75% earlier this year, giving him majority influence. His first and foremost recommendation has for Caesars to seek out serious M&A offers. And wouldn’t you know, William Hill’s been down on its luck – why not start there? Caesars Attempts €3bn Takeover of UK Sportsbook William Hill According to a recent report in The Sunday Times, negotiations … Continue reading

Oldie but Goodie – Bring Football Dice back to Vegas!

3 Dice Football: The casino game that failed to touchdown in Vegas! In the greater scheme of gambling-things, there are far more games that didn’t make it in Vegas than those that did. We’ve been talking about some of these and other classics that you won’t find in any casino these days. Hazard, for instance, was essentially the oldest ancestor of Craps, dating back to the 13th century. Today’s by-gone game of interest is a bit different. This one isn’t all that old. It did make it to the gaming floors of Las Vegas, but somehow – despite the ever-present love for American football rules throughout the US and Canada – it just didn’t last. I’m talking about a game that quickly came to be known as Football Dice. 3 Dice Football Kicks Off, But Fails to Touchdown Three Dice Football was an official game of multi-patented creator Jamie Abrahamson, … Continue reading

Great Canadian Gaming sells Great American Casinos

GCG pins focus on Canada, sells Washington casinos for $56 million. Established in 1982, Great Canadian Gaming (GCG) has long since strived to be just that – Canada’s greatest gaming corporation. More than two dozen casinos later, GCG accomplished that goal long ago, now standing tall alongside Gateway Casinos & Entertainment as the only dominant commercial casino competitors in the Great White North. What many visitors of their multitude of properties across British Columbia, Ontario and the Atlantic provinces may not realize is that, despite its region-bearing name, Great Canadian Gaming also operates a few gambling establishments to the south. That’s because the company launched those operations under a subsidiary branch, aptly titled Great American Casinos (GAC). After shutting down one of those operations less than two years ago, the Coquitlam-based corporation has decided its American investments are no longer worthy of pursuit. The latest financial headlines indicate GCG is … Continue reading

The craziest winning roulette bets you probably shouldn’t mimic. I’ve seen some pretty wild wagers in my days. I might have even made a few, But none of them compare to the stories I’m going to share with you now. These are the tales of three very different men who took similarly huge risks at the roulette table. I’m not talking about billionaire businessmen who toss millions at the casino every year. I won’t regurgitate the story of Sean Connery’s 3-in-a-row, let-it-ride wins on black 17. Although considerably crazy roulette winners, players like that have nothing to fear from a loss. The guys I’m going to tell you about put everything on the line! Craziest Winning Roulette Bets of All Time Before I get into the details of these stories, please consider just how crazy these actions were. I do not recommend following in their footsteps! Unfortunately, many people have … Continue reading

PlayAGS posts Record EGM Sales in Q3-2018

Canadian casinos responsible for 24% of PlayAGS record slot machine sales in Q3-18. Breaking a record is a great accomplishment for anyone. When it’s a business, and the record pertains to maximizing the profit margin, it’s particularly fulfilling for the executive team, and their shareholders. Thus, the flamboyant enthusiasm of PlayAGS CEO David Lopez in the company’s third-quarter earnings conference call last week is understandable, to put it mildly. PlayAGS, Inc. is one of North America’s leading manufacturers of Class II and Class III electronic gaming machines (EGMs). Class II EGMs are the slot machines found in most tribal-owned casinos. Class III slot machines fall within the regulatory guidelines of most corporate-run state and provincial casinos. PlayAGS also provides a suite of best-in-class table games, as well as a portfolio of free-to-play social casino games for mobile. Canada’s Favorite Live Casino launches in US Market

Best Canada Live Casino expands south into New Jersey, USA. The live dealer casino market isn’t nearly so competitive as its cousins in electronic gambling. There are hundreds of companies developing game software for online casinos, building interactive, RNG-based slot machines, tables games and more. Contrariwise, only around two dozen brands host live casino studios, streaming genuine table action to desktops, smartphones and tablets all over the world. There are a few logical explanations for why the live casino industry is so much smaller. For the last decade, it’s been more of a niche market, largely due to high-tech demands. It’s also not the type of software online casinos look to employ more than one of. Furthermore, it’s not a very inviting business for entrepreneurs when a single entity has already reached astronomical heights, soaring far beyond the capabilities and popularity of any existing competitor. If you’re familiar with today’s … Continue reading

Understanding US & Canada Online Gambling Licenses

US & Canadian Internet Gambling Jurisdictions by Province / State As promised in a previous segment detailing National Online Gambling Licensing Jurisdictions, today’s edition will cover more locally run regulatory bodies—specifically those in the states and provinces of the US and Canada—where online casino and/or poker games are locally operated. In these countries, the federal government has limited control over internet gambling laws. Both nations have decreed that gambling is not specifically legal or illegal, unless deemed so—one way or the other—by the state or province in which one resides. Therefore, the legality and regulation of internet gambling depends entirely upon where one lives in North America. We’ll give a brief run down of US and Canada online gambling licenses, where they exist, and what they permit. Important Note on Federal Gambling Laws United States: Unless otherwise legislated, online gambling is generally illegal in any US state where the activity … Continue reading

Play Foxwoods Live Roulette Online, just Not in US

Canadians can play roulette live from Foxwoods via LeoVegas. Foxwoods Resort in Connecticut, USA is one of the largest and most famous casino destinations in all of North America. Being on the east coast, it doesn’t compete with Las Vegas, and often draws players from as far away as Canada to its gaming floor. Now, those same Canadians, and many more—even players from across the ocean—can play at Foxwoods, without even leaving their home. Through an interactive gaming contract with Authentic Gaming, the Mashantucket Pequot and Mohegan tribes of Connecticut—owners of the casino resort—Foxwoods’ European roulette tables are now streaming live on the world wide web. Anyone of adult legal age can access them, from any jurisdiction where online gambling is legal. Thus players in Connecticut and other US states will still have to travel to play in person. Days later, they changed their minds. Those channels belong to Brian Christopher, of the channel BrianChristopherSlots and BrianGambles.com, and Scott “The Raja” Ritcher, owner of TheBigJackpot.
