Habanero Launches Comical Slot Machine, Mount Mazuma

Mount Mazuma Slot features hot 97.98% RTP at Habanero online casinos. It’s not often that online slot machines come along with anything better than a 96% return to player (RTP). The RTP determines what percentage a game pays out, over a long period of time, compared to what it takes in. Those typical 96% RTP slots will return, on average, $96 for every $100 wagered on them. That’s a far cry better than what you’ll find at land-based casinos, but nowhere near the best paying slot machines on the digital market. In the final days of March, Habanero Systems delivered a new online slot that not only comes with a fun, comical slot machine theme. It’s also equipped with a tantalizing RTP of 97.98%. As such, the new slots game, titled Mount Mazuma, is already attracting a great deal of attention as it erupts at Habanero-powered online casinos. Mount Mazuma … Continue reading

Will Alberta be Next Province to join the Canada Online Gambling Market? It’s January—a month that calls for inherent introspect and change. We all do it. DOJ taking Another Look at US Online Gambling Laws

Are US and Canada to become the doppelgangers of online gambling regulation? The way US and Canada online gambling laws stand now, there are many similarities, with a few important contrasts. But there are waves rising in the waters on both sides of the 49th parallel that could bring them closer to egalitarianism than ever before. According to the Associated Press, the US Department of Justice is rethinking its opinion towards cross-border player pooling between states where online gambling is lawfully regulated. At the same time, an argument for the legalization of single-event sports betting is brewing in Canada. Major Similarities Between US and Canada Online Gambling Laws There’s a lot these neighboring nations have in common when it comes to internet gambling. The most critical is the way their federal governments pass responsibility off to their subdivision of jurisdictions. In the US, the federal government decides what forms of … Continue reading

Slovakia Starts New Year with Online Gaming Regulation

Then Slovakia jumped out ahead of the Canada online gambling market… For years, I’ve been pondering the future of Canada’s mish-mash online casino laws. Some provinces offer internet gambling, some do not. Those who do monopolize the industry, claiming to be the only legal source, and yet players can access international operators with no legal threat of repercussions. It creates a confusing situation for Canadian iGamers, and prevents our government from collecting the millions in revenue that forward-thinking jurisdictions have been wrangling for years. Over the last decade, I’ve twice predicted our government would take the regulatory plunge, in one direction or another. Both times, I was wrong. We have not made the more likely (and unfavorable) move to outlaw international gaming sites, nor have we taken the more lucrative (and preferable) option to offer licenses to international iGaming operators. Today, my disappointment rings louder than ever as I solemnly … Continue reading

Canada Lottery Aims for More Interactive Gambling

Lotteries looking to make digital gambling games fun for young players. The decade old question of how to get today’s millennial generation to gamble rages on. Casinos have had this discussion time and again, creating more nightclubs and lounge atmospheres with integrated digital touch-screen gambling tablets to play on. All this is in an effort to counter the fast-rising popularity of online and mobile casino gambling. It’s not just slot machines that fail to interest the younger generation. Canada’s lottery programs are suffering, too. Adults under 35 aren’t interested in filling out paper slips. They’re used to getting entertainment by way of much more sophisticated technology. So, the lotteries are hoping to pique their interest with new interactive gambling games. Online Lotteries Not Enough to Attract Millennials The idea to make lottery tickets available over the internet was an obvious one, but not a very effective one. Most provinces now … Continue reading
