Mega Moolah and Major Millions progressive jackpots strike back to back.
The progressive jackpot network is really heating up at Microgaming powered online casinos this month! According to the latest reports, the digital gaming software firm’s two largest jackpot games, the Mega Moolah and Major Millions, both released their bountiful treasures within a day of each other.
The Mega Moolah struck first, delivering a slightly above average payout of $5.96 million on Sunday, August 11, 2019. The very next day, Major Millions paid out $1.87 million. Not a bad haul for either of these lucky players, if you ask me!
Mega Moolah Pays Out $5,956,662
This latest jackpot release marks the phenomenal fifty-seventh mega jackpot release in the history of Microgaming’s most famous ‘Millionaire Maker‘. No word yet on who the lucky winner is, or which online casino was responsible for the big win, but the strike has been confirmed by the game’s creators.
Mega Moolah is the internet’s largest progressive jackpot slot machine. Its prize pool starts out with a one million seed each time it is won, guaranteed to make a new millionaire with every mega jackpot strike. We don’t generally think of massive progressives paying out very often – maybe once or twice a year at best – but not this game.
The Mega Moolah has an average payout of about $5.8 million every 9 weeks. That’s a total of approximately $334 million in mega jackpots since the game’s launch in 2006.
Major Millions Progressive Pays $1,870,325
On Monday, August 12, Microgaming’s Major Millions dumped its massive, 7-figure jackpot into the lap of yet another supremely fortunate online gambler. Once again, no details as to the identity or location of the winner have been released, nor has the casino that delivered the jackpot been named. What we do know is that one very lucky player struck the sergeant’s bounty for a colossal $1,870,325.
That prize marks the progressive jackpot game’s fourth largest payout in history. Oddly enough, the largest strike was paid almost a year ago to the day – August 13, 2018 – worth $2,801,619.
A bit less lucrative than its Mega Moolah cousin, the military-themed Major Millions slot seeds its jackpot at a quarter of a million euros. While it doesn’t pay as much, it does release its wealth more often. Major Millions averages a $710k payout every 6 weeks and 5 days. Including this latest strike, it’s recorded a total of 74 wins for a combined value of around $52.56 million in mega jackpot payouts alone.
There’s Nothing Like Microgaming Progressive Jackpots
In May 2019, Microgaming proudly announced that its total network of progressives had finally struck the €1 billion milestone. No other online gaming software company can claim anything close to that mark.
At the time, CEO John Coleman called it “an astonishing milestone for Microgaming’s progressive jackpot network!” He went on to express the company’s incredible pride in seeing “total payouts exceed the €1 billion mark”.
Coleman went on to congratulate all the fortunate mega jackpot winners over the last two decades, dating back to their first progressive network slot release in 1999, as well as those lucky enough to strike countless 4-, 5-, and 6-figure jackpot strikes.
“We look forward to building on this remarkable success in the future with the development of even more innovative and rewarding gameplay experiences for players,” he said. Last week’s back-to-back strikes on the Mega Moolah and Major Millions progressive jackpots are exactly the type of experiences he was talking about. Congratulations to the winners, whoever (and where ever) you are!
