Ontario’s Regulated iGaming Market
Ontario’s open and competitive iGaming market launched on April 4, 2022. It reached 18 operators and 31 gaming websites by the end of its first quarter. As of September 1, 2026, the official iGaming Ontario directory listed 49 operators and 84 gaming websites.
To offer regulated online gaming in the province, an operator must be registered by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and operate under an agreement with iGaming Ontario (iGO). Players can look for the iGO logo and confirm a brand in the official directory.

49 Operators and 84 Gaming Websites
Ontario’s regulated market continues to evolve. As of September 1, 2026, iGaming Ontario listed 49 operators running 84 gaming websites. Because one operator can run several casino, poker or sportsbook brands, the number of operators and the number of websites are not the same.
Regulated-Site Use Reaches 91.1%
Research commissioned by iGaming Ontario and the AGCO found that 91.1% of Ontario respondents who gambled online reported using regulated sites during the market’s fourth year, up from 83.7% the previous year. Over the same April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026 period, the regulated market recorded more than $103 billion in wagers and $4.2 billion in gaming revenue; those figures were reported as unaudited and exclude OLG and pari-mutuel horse-racing wagers.
BetGuard Launches Across Ontario
In May 2026, iGaming Ontario launched BetGuard, a centralized self-exclusion tool for adults aged 19 and older. It allows a person to opt out of all Ontario-regulated online gaming platforms, including OLG, through a single portal and select a term of six months, one year, five years or a custom duration.
Ontario Is No Longer Canada’s Only Competitive Market
Ontario became Canada’s first open and competitive provincial iGaming market in 2022. Alberta launched its own regulated competitive market on July 13, 2026, making it the second province to adopt this type of framework.
