12 New Digital Slots for May 20, 2021, by RTP (High to Low)

It was a big day for interactive slots fans as the industry saw more than a dozen new titles hit the virtual shelves this morning. They’re coming from all angles – big names like NetEnt, PlayTech and Wazdan, as well as some smaller (but equally awesome) studios like Iron Dog and Origins.

#5 HippoPop by AvatarUX Studios – 96.1%

This poppin’ slot from AvatarUX Studios delivers a big hippo-sized punch with 5×3 reels that pay in both directions for a total of 65,536 paying lines. Playtech’s new Aztec: Expedition Thundershots is a 6×4 reel slot featuring ancient relics, sought by Spanish conquistadors, hunted by dangerous creatures of the rain forest. The design isn;t all that special, nor is the 95.5% RTP they chose to program it with. I suspect they’re relying on the similarity to Playtech’s ultimately famous Gonzo’s Quest series to attract players.

#12 Scroll of Dead by Play’n GO – 94.28%

Last and very much least, Play’n Go infused a meager 94.28% RTP into its brand new Scroll of Dead Slot. In the last few months, any slot starting with “Book of” has gotten a great deal of attention. I suppose changing Book to Scroll could be enough to pique player curiosity. The same as building it across 6 reels might be enough to hide its minimal 10 pay lines. As artful as its rendering may be, I have to advise a pas son this one.
