MGM live casinos coming to U.S. via world-class Evolution Gaming platform.
The United States online gambling market is primed for exponential growth as more and more states choose to regulate iGaming. It’s not just online casinos, poker rooms and bingo halls anymore. That was the norm prior to federal laws in 2011 that evacuated such activities from most states. Now, it’s all about the prospect of legal sports betting, and the digital reality of live dealer casinos.
MGM Resorts International has recently jumped on the US iGaming bandwagon, and what better partner to bring along than the world’s premier leader in live casino gaming? I’m talking, of course, about Evolution Gaming, the most decorated company in the business.
Evolution to Power MGM Live Casinos in the U.S.
According to a press release this morning, MGM Resorts and Evolution Gaming put ink to paper this week in an agreement that will see the Evolution’s multi-award-winning live dealer platform installed on its new partner’s BetMGM software.
This latest agreement is more of a contract extension than a new deal. The two are already working together in New Jersey, where Evolution subsidiary, Ezugi, provides live dealer casino services for all BetMGM brands in New Jersey.
MGM is currently working on the deployment of more iGaming products in several US states, including Michigan, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. This latest contract will see Evolution rolling out its live casino games to all BetMGM services as they deploy.
As many of today’s avid internet gamers are already aware, there’s no live platform with a reputation anywhere near the superiority of Evolution Gaming’s. The company launched its first live casinos in 2006, and was the instant favorite, due largely to the brand’s singular focus on live online gaming. That same superior quality led Evolution to 11 back-to-back Live Casino Supplier of the Year Awards from the annual eGR B2B Ceremony in London (2010 thru 2020).
Suffice it to say, MGM made sure to align wit the best of the best to bring US live casinos to the virtual realm.
Comments From the Company Heads
The big-wigs at BetMGM’s parent, MGM Resorts, and Europe’s live gaming juggernaut, Evolution Gaming, both offered enthusiastic comments on the agreement.
“We are honoured to have been chosen by BetMGM to be partners in the fast-developing US live gaming market,” said Johan Nordstrom, Chief Executive Officer for Evolution. “This is a natural extension of our existing relationship with GVC Holdings’ brands.”
This latest move solidifies an already growing footprint for Evolution in the North American market. The copany first dipped its toes in Canadian waters when it teamed with BCLC to build a live casino studio in Vancouver.
Matthew Sunderland, VP of Gaming for BetMGM, was equally pleased by their extended partnership. “BetMGM was formed with a very clear objective,” he said, “to lead sports betting and online gaming in the United States.
“As the undisputed leader and innovator in Live Casino services for digital gaming, Evolution is the perfect fit for us,” Sunderland continues. “Evolution offers everything we need to enable our brands to roll out an extremely rich, world-class online live gaming experience across the US and their new state launches roadmap is very much in accord with our own alongside building on our current leadership position in Gaming in New Jersey.”
