Malta shares AIDP’s Vision of Equality in Gaming

MGA gambling watchdog teams up with All-In Diversity Project.

MGA Gambling Watchdog Teams up with All-In Diversity ProjectThe Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) is among the world most respected regulators of the iGaming industry. The Maltese government was among the first to realize the great need for strict regulation of online gambling, establishing the MGA in 2001. In the last few years, the regulatory body has made significant strides in the cultivation of bar-setting standards. But responsibility and customer protection aren’t the only goals on the agenda.

Enter stage right the All-In Diversity Project (AIDP). Established in 2017, AIDP is an organization that takes the focus off revenues and profit margins, and places it on diversity and equality in the gaming industry workforce. It’s a vision shared by the Malta Gaming Authority, motivating the European iGaming regulator to team up with AIDP for an all-inclusive future, spiraling headlong into the evolution of human equality.

MGA Gambling Watchdog Partners with AIDP

The announcement came down earlier this month in a press release detailing the melded efforts of the MGA and AIDP. Project leaders are especially proud to team up with one of the world’s original iGaming regulatory bodies; not only a pioneer, but a consistent trend setter and innovator of new technologies.

The island of Malta may be insignificant in size, occupying an area of just 316 sq.km. (about half the size of Toronto), but it is one of the largest online gambling hubs on the planet. It also boasts one of the most diverse workforces; not necessarily by design. It just so happens that the island itself has a diverse population, and variety of talent to match.

By teaming up with AIDP, the two groups are hoping to evaluate the regulator’s diversity from a scientific standpoint. In this way, the All-In Diversity Project provides greater exposure of core issues surrounding equality, not just in recruitment from local and global pools of talent, but in the acquirement of skills necessary to fill various positions in the gaming industry.

Malta Gaming Authority CEO Heathcliff Farrugia expressed his enthusiasm over the new partnership with AIDP. “The Malta Gaming Authority is delighted to be supporting this project, as diversity, equality and inclusion are all on top of the MGA’s agenda”, he said.

Likewise, All-In Diversity’s co-founder Kelly Kehn says her organization is “thrilled” to have the Maltese gambling watchdog as a partner. “Having the MGA support the All-in Diversity Project is another leap forward for our industry. Working in collaboration with leading regulatory organisations such as the Malta Gaming Authority means we can accelerate progress, share more information and offer better tools to the businesses located there.”

All-In Diversity Project Shedding Light on Greater Responsibility in Canada

As previously reported, AIDP also sealed a partnership deal with the Responsible Gambling Council of Canada this month. Their collaborative efforts will not only see greater diversity and equality in the work space, but also in the way responsibility is viewed by Canadian gaming authorities.

The AIDP hopes to crunch the figures surrounding compulsive gamblers and problem gambling prevention in an effort to better identify at-risk behavior by looking outside the box of old-school player profiling methods that AIDP says have been historically “based upon the behaviors of specific social and cultural groupings.”
